We're exposing ourselves in this Behind the Scenes video of our recent work for Naked City Brewery.

This short video highlights the production process used by Brady Anderson to create our recent bumper for local brewery Naked City. After storyboarding his concept, Brady, Matt, and Jonathan shot the live action reference in an alley in downtown Seattle. Brady used the resulting footage to make a lighting reference from which he illustrated the final frames by hand.

Note: sometimes Brady swears. He's working on it.

With over 200 people in attendance, Piano Pat was well received, and, afterward, Pat was invited onstage to field questions from the audience. She was certainly soaking up all the attention. It was a great night!

A thoughtful conversation about healthcare doesn't seem like anything new, but in this new campaign for Group Health, we challenged viewers by speaking directly to them and not pulling any punches. What is striking and new about these is that the good, the bad and the ugly of health care comes out in a discussion with doctors, patients and administrators from Group Health. Using a process similar to The Interrotron, Matt interviewed each person at length to get to the heart of the issues and feelings of each person. Matt worked closely with Rick and Janet from Switzerland to craft the questions and ensure that the tough questions were being asked. The interviews were then turned over to Kelly Vander Linda at Collective to weave the stories and thoughts together into these arresting short films and spots. Check out the Group Health Microsite to see more.

The fight against cancer is something that touches all of us and the effects can be devastating. Sometimes, though, the little things that are effected can be the things that are sorely missed. In this new campaign for the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, we focus on the small moments and the little things in life that make it special and memorable. Shooting with our friends at Frank Unlimited, we spent time in the woods, on a farm and in the city shooting all kinds of real people doing the things they love with the people they love. It was an all out logistical challenge to get the entire crew to multiple locations in one day, but it was a snap with our crack production crew. On top of it all, we got lucky with varied weather conditions that really gave us a dynamic look to it all. The little things made it all...

It is all about constraints - limited time, limited crew, limited resources and no budget. That's what the Loaded team had to deal with in making Matt's new short film AFTER ALL THIS for SIFF’s Fly Filmmaking Challenge. Based on personal experience, Matt teamed up with writer Pete Fromm and hammered out a 10 page script in short order - 4 days! The next step was working with Casting Director Jody Rothfield to find the right actors for the two parts. Playing the lead role of Helen was Alicia Delmore (Hump Day, The Off Hours, Late Autumn) and Rich Morris (Pretty Face and Green Eyes). The short film was shot over three days and then promptly cut in one week. Bad Animals did the sound design and music was composed by Peter Broderick.

After All This premiered at SIFF in late May and also had a screening in Tacoma and Bumpershoot. It continues on with screenings at other festivals throughout the country. More information to come.
